Wore this beanie out in -12 weather and kept my head nice and warm. Wish it came in a smaller size. This one is made for a much bigger head than mine. Since it is wool I may be able to shrink it a little in the dryer. Nonetheless it is now a part of my cold weather kit because a warm head is more important than a perfect fit.

Beanie finally
I held out for a while on this. Glad I have it now. Bill works well at shading the sun as it came up the other day. Fits great without being snug. Wasn't sure it was going to be warm but no problems as the temp dropped after 5 hrs in the stand

A beanie that gives you the best of both worlds
I am a gear tester and product ambassador for Pnuma. They sent me this beanie to try out.
I wore it on a recent backpacking trip in the uintah mountains of utah. While summiting a peak I experienced driving hail, rain and very strong winds. This beanie has the visot to help protect the top of your face, including the eyes, from the elements, similar to a hunting ball cap. But it also has the merino wool of a high quality beanie to keep your head warm.
The fold down ear and back neck covers kept the cold wind and water from getting in my ears. The merino is soft and highly functional. I look forward to using this beanie on my Alberta moose hunt this October.
It reminds of of the army beanie that the character Radar O’Reilly often wore in the TV show MASH.
