Fred Bohm
Fred lives to hunt, and he does whatever it takes to be able to hunt year-round. In a typical year, you'll find Fred in the field for 200+ days, which means he travels to find the best hunts possible. In 2020 Fred spent months preparing for and hunting Rocky Mountain Bighorn. Next up, he has his sights on a Tur hunt in the Caucasus mountains.

How many Days do you spend in the Field per year: Around 200 days in the field a year.
What is your favorite hunt: My favorite hunt is with my bow, solo and in a foreign country that I’ve never explored before
What is your next “bucket list” hunt that you want to go on? If I could case one thing in the next year or so it would be a Tur hunt in the Caucasus Mountains.
What does hunting mean to you Hunting is an escape, a test, and a connection to our primal selves that some of us still possess. It allows us to walk into the woods and be the person we would have been thousands of years ago. It lets us test ourselves and our worth as a provider in the simplest sense. It reminds us that no matter how much technology effects us, that we are still creatures in the simplest form, looking to nature to provide us with the simplest need, food. Not just for us but for the ones we love. It reminds us we’re providers and that others depend on us for survival. It gives us purpose and a sense of self-worth.
No matter how much technology effects us, that we are still creatures in the simplest form, looking to nature to provide us with the simplest need, food. Not just for us but for the ones we love.
How does Pnuma gear improve your hunt? Pnuma takes care of keeping me warm and in the field so I can concentrate on what really matters… Hunting. A good clothing company is less about noticing what is on you and more about not noticing it. You want clothes and equipment that you forget about and lets you concentrate on the hunt, and that is exactly what Pnuma does.
What is your favorite piece of Pnuma gear? Give me a pair of Tenacity pants, the 1/4 zip merino top and a pair of ranch gloves and I can tackle just about any hunt where I'm on my feet. When sitting 16 feet above an unsuspecting quarry, I'm typically in my Waypoint suit.
